Technical Specifications

Samba Vídeos works according to market standards of IAB, an international regulatory agency of ads and campaigns. For ensure the quality of the advertising requests, see the correct formats and specifications before sending your files.

Video files:

We recommend your ad to meet all the following requirements:

  • Media name must not contain special characters.
  • Ad recommended duration: 30 seconds (Recommended by IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau), an institute that helps establish metrics and regulate digital advertising).
  • Recommended Bitrate: At least 2 Mbps
  • Resolution (pixels): 400x300 minimum; 640x480 recommended (4:3) or 640x360 (16:9)

NOTE: Depending on the size of the player where the ad is inserted, black bars will be included to keep the original aspect ratio.

  • Color depth: 32-bit
  • Key frames: each 1 second
  • Frame rate: At least 15 frames per second
  • Recommended video codecs: MPEG2, H.264/AAC
  • Audio: 128kbps/ 44khz
  • Aspect ratio: 4:3 (standard screen) ou 16:9 (wide screen).

NOTE: Samba Videos will transcode the video and deliver a lighter file (smaller bitrate) to the final user. If you use your own AdServer, we recommend the video Ad has a lighter bitrate (e.g.: video 360p, video bitrate = 512kbps, audio bitrate = 128kbps).

Types of Ad supported in Samba Vídeos:

Pre Roll

Commercial video displayed before the main video begins.

Viewer experience

  • A pre roll video of up to 30 seconds is presented to the viewer.
  • If the viewer clicks the video, it'll be redirect to the URL provided by the advertiser in a new tab/window, and the video keeps playing.

Post Roll

Commercial video displayed after the main video ends.

Viewer experience

  • A post roll video of up to 30 seconds is presented to the viewer after the exhibition of all main video content.
  • If the viewer clicks the video, it'll be redirect to the URL provided by the advertiser in a new tab/window, and the video keeps playing.

Audio codecs (Preferred):

  • MPEG-2
  • Audio codec: MPEG Layer II or Dolby AC-3
  • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps or better
  • MPEG-4
  • Video codec: H.264
  • Audio codec: AAC
  • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps or better

#tips - There are problems with FLV because of incompatibilities with IOS devices and problems with audios in WMV videos.

Conventional Ads:

Pre Roll / Post Roll - Supports VAST Standard up 3.0 Linear (only VIDEO)

Super Ads (VPAID) - Supports VAST Standard vPaid

SkipAD - Feature &skipAd=true has standard support for conventional campaigns. For vPaid campaigns is up to the Campaign Author to enable this feature when creating the campaign. These information are available in IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) documentation , an institute that helps to estabilish metrics and regulate digital advertising.
